The Team
With many staff at the practice, we provide both specialist and general dental care under one roof enabling us to offer a unique service to our patients.
Our staff undergo regular training and continued professional education to ensure that all members of the team are up to date with new treatments, health and safety and cross infection control procedures. Our dedicated dental nurses have vast experience in both general dental care and specialist dental services such as dental implant and restorative procedures having worked both in the hospital environment and private practice for many years.
Dr Brendan F Flint BDS MMedSci
Brendan Graduated from University of Newcastle upon Tyne and was awarded a merit in Restorative Dentistry along with the James Sopwith prize in Conservative Dentistry . He also has a Masters Degree in Restorative Dentistry with Periodontal specialty and accepts referrals from many dentists in Sheffield, Chesterfield, Derbyshire and surrounding areas for both periodontal and dental implant treatments.
Dr Justine V Allsopp BDS
Justine graduated from University of Sheffield and was awarded the prize in Orthodontics and Paediatric dentistry.
She completed a two year modular orthodontic course along with a clinical attachment at the Department of Orthodontics, Chesterfield Hospital.
Justine also has a special interest cosmetic dentistry.
Mr Robert Dyas BDS DCH MMedSci RCS
Robert Dyas qualified from Sheffield University. He is a Specialist in Oral Surgery who started his specialist training at Pinderfields Hospital, moving London and Sheffield where he was awarded a Wellcome Trust Training Fellowship, and FDS. He worked at the University of Manchester as a Lecturer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, organised and taught on the undergraduate / postgraduate courses in surgery, implantology and sedation.
His practice is limited to Oral Surgery and Implantology placing in excess of 600 implants per year. He is Senior Lecturer on the Salford University Implant Course, elected ADI Committee member, ADI Mentor, Astra coach and SAAD sedation Mentor.
Dr Ian Birch BDS
Ian qualified from Manchester Dental School and had a high level of interest in all aspects of root canal therapy for many years and is a member of the British Endodontic Society.
He has a special interest in endodontics (root canal treatment) and utilising the very latest equipment and techniques he obtains excellent results. Ian uses a stereo microscope along with digital radiography as a matter of course.
He accepts referrals from dentists for the treatment of dental infections and root canal treatments from South Yorkshire.
Ian also has a special interest cosmetic dentistry.
Dental Surgery Assistants
Our Dental Surgery Assistants are all qualified in dental nursing, with many staff members holding the Certificate in Dental Radiology. The team is headed by our practice manager, Jan Wolstenholme.
All our staff have great experience in the dental field, enabling us to provide excellent dental care.
We all undertake continued professional development programmes, to ensure everyone is up-to-date with the advances in dentistry.
Therapists
Working alongside the surgeons are a team of dental therapists and hygienists providing prescribed periodontal treatment, oral hygiene advice and oral health maintenance.
